Whata Birthday
Birthday wishes started pouring in as soon as midnight on FaceBook, MySpace, & text messages. They kept coming in all day long & I appreciated it so much. It really made me feel special. My sister kicked my ass last night with non-stop punches. My mom & dad both wished me a happy birthday as soon as I woke up this morning. I went to school & told a group of my 2nd graders that it was my birthday. They quickly tried to tell Mrs. Escobedo but I forbid them. I went on to my other students in 4th grade & then 3rd grade. I was in the computer lab at the end of the day with a student when my Aunt Cory appeared . She told me they need me in Mrs. Escobedo’s class. She was going to be leaving & I needed to take over the class. I had totally forgotten it was my birthday since no one was telling me “happy birthday” throughout the day.
I walked into Mrs. Escobedo’s class & BAM! All the little ones started singing ‘happy birthday’ to me. I was SO SHOCKED & really happy
They made me feel so special! Mrs. Escobedo was passing out paper towels because her husband had brought cupcakes & Capris Sun for the kids & I. I was overwhelmed with joy. Mrs. Escobedo told me the kids told her it was my birthday. She asked “why didn’t you tell me it was your birthday?” “I didn’t wanna brag about it” I replied. “Awe, I know you’re not like that, but birthdays are really special” she said. We all ate cupcakes & Capris Suns & enjoyed the rest of the day. Everyone was dancing to the music & having a good time. I thanked Mr. Escobedo for bringing the cupcakes & drinks & gave Mrs. Escobedo a hug. One of the students threw up right before leaving home.
In other news, I got BSN’s Axis-HT today
